Gratitude - by Anthony

When someone goes out of their way to do something nice for you, do you ever stop to appreciate them? Not just say “thanks”, but actually show them that you care? What about with God? Do you ever really stop and show the Lord your appreciation? I want you to stop and ask yourself that. But before you can answer that, we should probably define what it is to show appreciation.
The definition of appreciation is gratitude; thankful recognition. Now that we have the definition covered, can you honestly say yes to my previous question? Maybe some of you ask, “What should I show appreciation for?” If you stop and think about it, when Christ died on the cross and paid the ultimate price, he deserved and still deserves total appreciation for that. Maybe some of you ask, “So, how do I show that?”

Well, one of the best ways you can show it is by the way you pray. When you pray, don’t just ask for requests. Yes, by all means, ask for requests to be answered, but you should also take some time in your prayer to just thank God for everything he has done, and everything that he will do.
Another way is your attitude. Be a witness and let it be made known that you are a Christian just by the way you act around others. Do it out of gratitude and respect for the God that we serve. When you need to do something you don’t necessarily want to do, don’t do it with a bad attitude. If you truly want to show appreciation for the ultimate sacrifice that Christ made, be willing to make some sacrifices yourself.
